Specialty Areas
Every therapist offers different approaches and areas of expertise into their therapeutic work.
This page lists the areas that I have training and experience with and feel comfortable offering to clients.

Anxiety
Most of us experience some level of anxiety on a daily basis.
When that anxiety starts to affect your ability to be fully present for yourself and others day after day, when fear, worry or panic take over your internal system and manifest in your body through physical symptoms or getting stuck on certain thoughts or actions, you might be looking for another approach to understand and manage the intense anxiety you are experiencing.

Through a neuroscience-based approach, we discover the systems in your brain that have been wired to fear certain situations or unknowns, how that affects your physical body and explore ways to generate new pathways in your brain, decreasing the intensity of your anxiety over time. Sometimes this may involve elements of exposure therapy which activates the anxious connections in your brain in order to generate new connections in a safe and non-threatening environment.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is all about seeing your mind as a mix of different parts, each with their own feelings, thoughts, and energies. Combined with a somatic approach, IFS encourages you to pay attention to what you are feeling physically in your body and notice how parts manifest or express themselves in your physical body. This combo helps you connect with and even bring healing to inner parts of yourself, facilitates emotional regulation and self-discovery, and leads to better emotional balance and self-awareness in your every day life.

Faith / Religion / Spirituality
-
For folks who practice various faiths and religions, you are welcome here and welcome to incorporate your faith beliefs into our work in whatever ways feel comfortable for you.

-
For folks who have had a faith background but are currently processing, questioning, deconstructing and/or reconstructing their faith - you are very welcome here.

-
For folks who have experienced or are experiencing religious trauma, abuse, or any type of hurt or harm in faith communities or institutions where they belonged - you are very welcome here.

-
For folks who struggle with their faith or religious beliefs and their sexuality or gender identity - you are very welcome here to explore, process, and find a path forward that feels most congruent to you. I utilize resources from Mark Yarhouse’s research to help explore both how you experience your sexuality and/or gender alongside your faith values. There is no fixed outcome with this approach. My desire is to help you find the most congruent way to live your life with the various facets of your identity that are most important to you.
Sexuality & Gender Exploration
Sexuality and gender are vital aspects of how we understand ourselves throughout the various seasons of our lives. Much of our sense of belonging and acceptance can spring from these parts of our identity. Our personal understandings of sexuality and gender can be difficult to navigate on our own, and I hope to provide a safe space for anyone that currently is or has struggled with navigating their questions around who they are and how they desire to express that in the world.
